This past year I was diagnosed with Inter-cranial Hypertension. This is a condition where there is increased fluid build up on the brain and as a result the person gets really debilitating headaches, vision problems, vomiting and ringing in the ears among other symptoms. In July I underwent brain surgery to implant a shunt into my brain to help drain the fluid off. That helped for several months but now I find the symptoms have come back and I am facing many tests and possibly another surgery.

This has opened the door for me to become very uneasy and have had trouble sleeping as well as just a not so peaceful spirit. So today as I read Joyce Myer’s twitter post I had to think to myself what in the world is controlling me. Is it the peace of Jesus that lives in me or am I allowing this life circumstance to come and take over my life and keep me from the complete joy that Jesus has for me. It is my prayer that as I move along in this time in my life that I let the one how has the peace that passes all understanding give me the joy that can overflow in my life to others.

One of the things that impacted me from the book is that statement she says ” A spiritually mature woman will be the first to do what is right even if nobody else is doing so”. I believe that this statement is so true and rings home to me. what is it that has been rating at my soul? One of the things that God has been bringing back to my mind is that of being so confident in my self that I would always do what is right even when those around me are doing what is wrong. I believe that a confident person would be able to do what is right as long as that confidence is in Jesus and not in our own strength. In Philippians 4:13 the Bible states that I can do everything through him who gives me strength. I believe that if we trust in God to give us strength then we will be confident enough to do what is right. Just my thoughts.
